A cultural history of post-Wall urban, social, political, and
cultural transformations in Berlin. Presents a cultural analysis of
Berlin’s cultural production, including literature, film, memoirs
and non-fiction works, art, media, urban branding campaigns, and
cultural diversity initiatives put forth the by the Berlin Senate.
Examines Berlin’s branding, urban-economic development and its
search for a post-Wall identity by focusing on manifestations of
nostalgic longing in documentary films and other cultural products.
Prosperity Pie means: plenty of everything with enough to share! We can be and feel prosperous no matter how much we have or don't have, or what outside circumstances may be. You are enough You have enough You do enough It's true
Today's solar cell multi-GW market is dominated by crystalline
silicon (c-Si) wafer technology, however new cell concepts are
entering the market. One very promising solar cell design to answer
these needs is the silicon hetero-junction solar cell, of which the
emitter and back surface field are basically produced by a low
temperature growth of ultra-thin layers of amorphous silicon. In
this design, amorphous silicon (a-Si: H) constitutes both emitter"
and base-contact/back surface field" on both sides of a thin
crystalline silicon wafer-base (c-Si) where the electrons and holes
are photogenerated; at the same time, a-Si: H passivates the c-Si
surface. Recently, cell efficiencies above 23% have been
demonstrated for such solar cells.
In this book, the editors present an overview of the
state-of-the-art in physics and technology of amorphous-crystalline
heterostructure silicon solar cells. The heterojunction concept is
introduced, processes and resulting properties of the materials
used in the cell andtheir heterointerfaces are discussed and
characterization techniques and simulation tools are presented.

Social Justice Pedagogies provides a diverse and wide perspective
into making education more robust and useful in light of global
injustices and new challenges posed by new media and communication
practices, media manipulation, right-wing populism, climate crisis,
and intersectional discriminations. Meant to inspire readers to see
learning and teaching from a wider perspective of justice,
inclusion, equity, and creativity, it argues that relational and
mindful approaches to teaching and learning in specific contexts,
settings, and place-based experiences are essential in how we
determine the value of education. The book draws on contributions
from scholars and experts who incorporate social justice into their
teaching practices in different disciplines in universities across
Canada, the US, and Europe. Social Justice Pedagogies uniquely
presents a wide interdisciplinary perspective on social justice in
education practices in order to speak to the ways in which we all
want to make our research, our classrooms, and our institutions
more just. It argues that pedagogy, and specifically teaching and
learning, constitutes a process of building relationships between
people and knowledge by fostering a learning community.
Technological learning is a key driver behind the improvement of
energy technologies and subsequent reduction of production costs.
Understanding how and why production costs for energy technologies
decline, and whether they will continue to do so in the future, is
of crucial importance for policy makers, industrial stakeholders
and scientists alike. This timely and informative book therefore
provides a comprehensive review of technological development and
cost reductions for renewable energy, clean fossil fuel and
energy-efficient demand-side technologies. It responds to the need
for a quality-controlled data set of experience curves, including
assessment of measurement methodology, technological knowledge and
associated cost. The expert contributors present a thorough
overview and discussion of the pitfalls of applying the experience
curve approach, including aspects such as geographical system
boundaries, whether the slope of the experience curves is constant
or not, statistical error and sensitivity analysis of experience
curves, and whether the experience curve approach can be utilized
to quantify improvements in energy efficiency. A clear set of
recommendations for the use of the experience curve approach is
also prescribed.Providing a significant contribution to the current
literature on energy and climate models, scenario analysis, and
methodological lessons on experience curves, this book will
strongly appeal to academics and students in the areas focusing on
energy and public sector economics. Policy makers in these fields
will also find the book to be of great interest.
Macon to Manassas a novel by John Wayne Dobson and Walter Kevin
Sark. It was edited by Edward DeVries. Kevin and John were born in
and are life-long residents of Macon, Georgia. Both have known The
Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior for much of their lives. They
are close friends and veteran re-enactors of The 16th GA, Co. G
Infantry Re-enactment Company, "The Jackson Rifles." The book was a
20-year labor of love dedicated to the Confederate companies that
were raised in the authors' native Macon. 23 Confederate combat
units were raised during the course of the War from Macon. At War's
end, there were not enough survivors to muster 7 companies. With so
many men from Macon giving their lives for "The Cause," the authors
wanted to write a novel that would not only be good reading, but
also tell the story of the brave and honorable men from Macon.
Those who survived the war, and those who did not.

How to Build a Fountain is a collection of bible study lessons
based on Paul's model of discipleship. A fresh viewpoint that is
written by experienced small-group leaders. Biblical lessons that
utilize familiar examples from TV, Movies, Music and Pop-culture.
Lessons are formatted for consistency and organization. Before
becoming a book, the individual bible lessons were presented in
small-group settings with an overwhelming positive response. A
great bible study book for individuals, small-group leaders, and
church leaders. Frank & John share their small-group successes
and offer questions that will encourage conversation. Along with
impactful biblical lessons, conclusions, and BIG IDEAS that help
readers retain and share lessons.
In the past years, the transiency of European city-making and
dwelling has become increasingly hard to disregard. This urban flux
calls for a methodological rethinking for those professionals,
social and natural scientists, artists, and activists, with an
interest in the processes of remaking and reclaiming urban space.
With a practical and empirical emphasis, this anthology brings
forth a variety of perspectives on urban appropriation strategies,
their relation to public space-making, and their implications for
future city development, exploring how ideas and practices of
appropriation inform and relate to cultural narratives,
politico-historical occasions as well as socio-ecological
expressions.
This study investigated whether the expression of forgiveness, and
conversely the expression of non-forgiveness promote a sense of
justice in the offended after an offence has taken place. The study
considered a sample of 125 participants and employed a 2
(relationship type: close vs. distant)x 3 (forgiveness: explicit
non-forgiveness vs. explicit forgiveness vs. control) experimental
design. The central argument was that the expression of forgiveness
could address symbolic psychological concerns triggered by an
offence and thus play a role in restoring the victim's sense of
justice after an offence has taken place. The main findings support
this argument by showing that victims who expressed forgiveness to
their offenders reported greater value consensus and power/status
than victims who expressed nothing to their offenders. Value
consensus and power/status in turn enhanced the victim's sense of
justice.
